Lead Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Lead Chemical Process Engineer to spearhead innovative projects within their remote engineering division. This critical role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of chemical process development, from initial concept through to successful implementation, all while operating in a remote-first capacity. You will be responsible for guiding a team of talented engineers, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and sustainable chemical processes that meet stringent industry standards. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of chemical engineers in the design, development, and optimization of complex chemical processes.
• Develop and implement project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Oversee the creation of detailed process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including HAZOP analysis, to ensure process safety and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, operations, and other departments to facilitate seamless technology transfer and scale-up.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation in process engineering.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering .
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Extensive experience with process simulation software, such as Aspen Plus or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, separation processes, and process control systems.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead multidisciplinary teams effectively.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with strong remote collaboration capabilities.
