About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Cloud Architect to spearhead their cloud strategy and infrastructure initiatives. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions that support our client's growing digital ambitions. You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and business teams to translate requirements into architectural designs, ensuring the adoption of best practices and emerging cloud technologies. Key Responsibilities
- Design and oversee the implementation of enterprise-level cloud architectures on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Develop and enforce cloud governance policies, security standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Lead the migration of existing applications and infrastructure to cloud environments.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineers and operations teams.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization for cost efficiency and performance.
- Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and services to enhance capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or in a similar senior cloud engineering role.
- In-depth knowledge of major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their core services.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable working remotely.
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
