About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Cloud Architect to spearhead their cloud strategy and implementation initiatives. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be instrumental in designing, building, and managing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness. This role demands a visionary leader who can guide technical teams, define best practices, and drive innovation in a cloud-native environment. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of our technology stack and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to achieve strategic business objectives, all within a remote-first culture that fosters autonomy and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Develop and enforce cloud architecture standards, best practices, and governance policies.
- Lead the migration of existing applications and services to the cloud environment.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineering and DevOps teams.
- Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and services to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with software development teams to ensure cloud-native application design and deployment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cloud Architect, with a strong track record of designing and deploying complex cloud solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their core services.
- Expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of networking, security principles, and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation strategies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
