About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Cloud Engineer to spearhead their cloud infrastructure initiatives. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing our cloud environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in cloud technologies, ready to lead a team and drive best practices in a distributed setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS or Azure .
- Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Automate deployment, scaling, and management processes using CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
- Ensure the security and compliance of cloud environments, implementing robust security measures.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers within the cloud team.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on cloud architecture.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS , Azure , or GCP ) and their core services.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python , Bash) and Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes .
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and monitoring principles in cloud environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote role.
