Lead Cloud Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking an experienced Lead Cloud Engineer to join their fully remote team, based remotely but serving clients across the UK, including those in Coventry . This critical role will focus on designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure. You will be instrumental in driving cloud strategy, adopting best practices, and leading initiatives that enhance performance and cost-efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
• Monitor system performance, security posture, and resource utilization, implementing optimizations as needed.
• Lead cloud strategy initiatives, evaluate new technologies, and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud-related incidents and proactively identify potential issues.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in cloud engineering , with a strong focus on architecture and operations.
• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated services.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of networking principles, security best practices, and disaster recovery strategies in the cloud.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience working in a fully remote , collaborative environment.
