Lead Compliance Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and proactive Lead Compliance Officer to oversee and strengthen their regulatory compliance framework in Cardiff . This senior position is responsible for ensuring adherence to all relevant financial regulations, developing and implementing compliance policies, and managing compliance risks. You will lead a team of compliance professionals, fostering a culture of integrity and ethical conduct throughout the organization. This is a critical leadership role for an individual with extensive knowledge of financial services regulations and a proven track record in compliance management, contributing directly to the firm's reputation and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures across the organization.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business, ensuring timely adaptation.
• Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance breaches and vulnerabilities.
• Manage and mentor the compliance team, providing guidance and professional development.
• Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors.
• Oversee the implementation of compliance training programs for all staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in a compliance role within the financial services industry.
• In-depth knowledge of UK and relevant international financial regulations (e.g., FCA, PRA).
• Proven experience in risk management, AML/KYC procedures, and regulatory reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional certification in compliance (e.g., CAMS, ICA) is highly desirable.
