About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Computational Biologist to drive impactful insights from large-scale genomic and multi-omic datasets. Working entirely remotely, you will lead a dedicated team of bioinformaticians and computational biologists, developing and applying advanced analytical methods to support groundbreaking research initiatives. This role is crucial for translating complex biological data into actionable discoveries, contributing significantly to our client's mission of advancing precision medicine. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sophisticated computational pipelines for the analysis of genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data.
- Lead and mentor a team of computational biologists and bioinformaticians, guiding project direction and scientific rigor.
- Collaborate closely with experimental biologists and clinicians to design studies and interpret complex biological findings.
- Design and execute statistical analyses to identify key biomarkers and mechanisms of disease.
- Contribute to the development of novel algorithms and software tools to advance biological data analysis capabilities.
Requirements
- PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in computational biology or bioinformatics, with proven leadership capabilities.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with big data technologies.
- Strong understanding of genomics, statistical genetics, and molecular biology.
- Experience managing cloud-based computing environments and version control systems is essential for this remote role.
