Lead Computational Biologist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage robust computational pipelines for genomic, proteomic, and transcriptomic data analysis.
• Design and implement machine learning models to identify patterns and predictive biomarkers.
• Lead and mentor a team of computational biologists and bioinformaticians, fostering a collaborative research environment.
• Collaborate closely with experimental biologists and clinicians to translate research questions into computational approaches.
• Visualize complex biological data and effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of computational biology efforts within the organization.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in computational biology, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, and/or Perl, with a strong focus on data analysis libraries.
• Proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and biological data mining techniques.
• Experience with high-performance computing environments and cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of genomics, transcriptomics, and other relevant '-omics' data types.
