About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Computational Biologist to join their forward-thinking research team in Coventry . In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced computational strategies to analyze large-scale biological datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and application of computational and statistical methods for the analysis of complex biological data.
- Design and manage bioinformatics pipelines for next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
- Collaborate with experimental teams to formulate research questions addressable through computational analysis.
- Interpret and present complex biological findings to diverse audiences, including scientific and non-scientific stakeholders.
- Supervise and mentor a team of computational biologists and bioinformaticians, ensuring project success and professional growth.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational biology, bioinformatics, and machine learning relevant to drug discovery.
Requirements
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Extensive experience (7+ years) in computational biology or bioinformatics, with a strong focus on analyzing omics data.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant bioinformatics tools and databases.
- Proven ability to manage projects and lead a scientific team.
- Strong understanding of biological pathways, gene regulation, and disease mechanisms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
