Lead Computational Biologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Computational Biologist to spearhead their data-driven research initiatives. This fully remote position will be instrumental in analyzing vast biological datasets, developing predictive models, and uncovering critical insights that drive our understanding of complex biological systems. You will work collaboratively with a distributed team of biologists, bioinformaticians, and data scientists to translate raw data into actionable scientific discoveries. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced computational and statistical methods for the analysis of high-throughput omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics).
• Develop and validate predictive models and machine learning algorithms to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
• Collaborate closely with experimental biologists to interpret findings and design future experiments based on computational results.
• Build and maintain robust data analysis pipelines and bioinformatics tools for efficient data processing and visualization.
• Mentor and guide junior computational biologists and bioinformaticians within the team.
• Communicate complex analytical findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences globally.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or equivalent in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Extensive experience (5+ years) in analyzing large-scale biological datasets using scripting languages like Python or R.
• Proven expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques applied to biological problems.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of molecular biology and genetics principles.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively in a remote , international team setting.
