About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Lead Computational Chemist to join their pioneering research division. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere within the UK . Key Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement novel computational chemistry models and algorithms.
• Lead a team of computational chemists, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and project oversight.
• Apply quantum mechanics, molecular dynamics, and statistical mechanics to predict chemical properties and reaction pathways.
• Design virtual screening campaigns and prioritize potential drug candidates or material components.
• Collaborate with experimental chemists and biologists to interpret results and guide future research directions.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational chemistry software and hardware, and propose new tools for adoption.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Theoretical Chemistry, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in computational chemistry research.
• Extensive expertise in QM/MM methods, DFT, MD simulations, and free energy calculations.
• Proficiency with computational chemistry software packages (e.g., Gaussian, Schrödinger Suite, Amber).
• Demonstrated experience in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for workflow automation.
• Proven ability to lead scientific projects and mentor junior team members effectively.
