About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking studio in the arts and entertainment industry , is seeking a visionary Lead Concept Artist to guide their creative direction remotely, influencing projects originating from Liverpool . This pivotal role involves setting the visual tone and style for new projects, translating ideas into compelling visual concepts that inspire the wider development team. You will lead a team of talented concept artists, fostering an environment of creativity, collaboration, and artistic excellence. The ideal candidate is a seasoned artist with a proven track record in defining unique visual styles and leading creative teams to achieve groundbreaking results.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of concept artists, providing artistic direction and mentorship.
• Develop high-quality concept art for characters, environments, props, and overall visual style across projects.
• Collaborate with directors, producers, and other department leads to define and refine project aesthetics.
• Establish and document visual guidelines and style guides for consistent artistic execution.
• Oversee the concept art pipeline, ensuring timely delivery of assets that meet project requirements.
• Conduct research and gather references to inform creative decisions and maintain visual innovation.

Requirements

• Extensive professional experience as a Concept Artist with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse artistic styles and imaginative designs.
• Proven experience in a lead or supervisory role, demonstrating strong leadership and team management skills.
• Expertise in digital painting software such as Photoshop, Procreate, or Corel Painter.
• Strong understanding of composition, color theory, anatomy, perspective, and design principles.
• Experience with 3D concepting tools (e.g., ZBrush, Blender) is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative vision effectively.
