Lead Cybersecurity Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and authoritative Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to spearhead their security engineering efforts in Coventry . This senior position involves architecting, implementing, and managing the company's cybersecurity infrastructure to protect against sophisticated threats. You will lead a team of security professionals, drive innovation in security technologies, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage advanced security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems.
• Lead security architecture reviews and provide technical guidance on security best practices for system development and deployment.
• Develop and execute incident response plans, coordinating efforts during security breaches and conducting post-incident analysis.
• Oversee the security operations center (SOC) functions and manage security monitoring tools.
• Mentor and guide junior security engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development within the team.
• Stay abreast of emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies, recommending proactive measures.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications like CISSP-ISSAP or CISM are strongly preferred.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in cybersecurity engineering, with a proven track record in designing and deploying complex security solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security architecture principles, and common attack vectors.
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container security is essential.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with excellent communication and presentation abilities.
