Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Data Scientist to head their new machine learning initiatives in Birmingham . Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated machine learning models for various business applications, including predictive analytics and personalization.
- Manage and mentor a team of data scientists, providing technical guidance and career development support.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across product, engineering, and marketing to identify opportunities for ML integration and data-driven insights.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for ML models and projects, ensuring measurable business impact.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, researching and implementing new techniques and tools.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in data science, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior role.
- Deep expertise in machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, deep learning) and statistical modeling.
- Proficiency in Python or R , along with libraries like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Pandas.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and SQL/NoSQL databases.
