About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their DevOps initiatives in Coventry . This role is crucial for bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, focusing on automating and streamlining our client's software development lifecycle. You will be responsible for implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, ensuring system reliability, and fostering a culture of collaboration and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, excellent leadership qualities, and a passion for optimizing development processes to deliver high-quality software faster.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability.
- Develop and manage containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with software development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
- Establish and enforce best practices for system security, configuration management, and disaster recovery.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in DevOps engineering or a related role.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools, scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python), and version control systems (Git).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies.
- Strong understanding of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack).
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor team members.
- Experience with system administration on Linux/Windows environments.
