About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their infrastructure and deployment strategies in Birmingham . This is a critical role where you will be responsible for building and maintaining a highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure. You will play a key part in automating our development and deployment pipelines, fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams, and ensuring the operational excellence of our services. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive leader to shape the infrastructure of a growing tech company, working closely with talented engineers in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid and reliable software delivery.
Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health and performance.
Automate operational tasks, including deployment, scaling, and incident response.
Collaborate with software development teams to optimize application performance and reliability.
Ensure the security and compliance of the infrastructure, adhering to industry best practices.

Requirements

Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on cloud environments.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell .
Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes .
Expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
Strong understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and system administration.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
