About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their infrastructure and operations team in Coventry . This critical role involves architecting, implementing, and managing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) across the engineering department. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of cloud technologies, infrastructure as code, and containerization, with a passion for optimizing system performance and ensuring high availability for all services, working closely with development teams to streamline deployment pipelines and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS or Azure .
- Develop and manage robust CI/CD pipelines to automate application builds, testing, and deployments.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
- Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering best practices in automation and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure seamless integration of new features.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps or related infrastructure engineering roles.
- Proven expertise in managing cloud environments (e.g., AWS , Azure, GCP) and associated services.
- Strong proficiency with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Extensive experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash , Python) and IaC tools.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Experience with monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
