About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their cloud infrastructure and automation initiatives. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments, championing DevOps best practices, and empowering development teams with efficient tooling and processes. This role is critical for enhancing our deployment pipeline, improving system reliability, and fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams, all managed from the comfort of your home office.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of applications.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Oversee and optimize cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, ensuring security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health and performance.
- Collaborate with software development teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize application performance, and improve deployment strategies.
- Lead initiatives for disaster recovery planning and business continuity.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role, with at least 5 years in the field.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) and IaC tools.
- In-depth knowledge of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) and system administration.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions effectively in a remote setting.
