Lead Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to spearhead their electrical engineering initiatives in Coventry, West Midlands . In this senior position, you will guide the design process for innovative electrical systems, ensuring technical integrity and adherence to project specifications. You'll work on a variety of exciting projects, collaborating closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence in a hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design aspects of projects from concept through to completion.
• Develop and review detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for new projects and systems.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant national and international standards and regulations.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met effectively.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Significant experience (7+ years) in electrical design, with proven leadership capabilities.
• Expertise in power electronics , control systems, and circuit design.
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as ETAP, PSpice, or similar.
• Strong understanding of safety standards and best practices in electrical engineering.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
