About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to spearhead electrical design initiatives within their growing operations in Coventry, West Midlands . This pivotal role involves leading a team of engineers, ensuring the delivery of cutting-edge electrical designs for diverse projects, and upholding the highest standards of technical quality and innovation. You will be instrumental in shaping the electrical engineering strategy, fostering collaboration, and driving the successful completion of complex electrical infrastructure and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of electrical design engineers, providing technical direction and mentorship.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of electrical design strategies, standards, and best practices.
• Review and approve electrical designs, calculations, and specifications produced by the team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Liaise with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and ensure design alignment.
• Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities and supporting proposal efforts.
• Ensure all designs comply with national and international electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering design, with a significant portion in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Demonstrated expertise in electrical system design for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with industry-standard CAD and simulation software (e.g., Revit MEP, ETAP).
• Strong understanding of power systems, distribution, controls, and protection schemes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
