Lead Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated Lead Electrical Design Engineer to spearhead their design efforts in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will take ownership of the entire electrical design lifecycle, from concept to completion, ensuring the highest standards of innovation and reliability. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of electrical systems for diverse projects.
• Prepare detailed electrical design documentation , including single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring schedules.
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical guidance on design decisions.
• Ensure all designs comply with national and international electrical standards and regulations.
• Manage and coordinate with external vendors and contractors for equipment procurement and installation.
• Review and approve design drawings and calculations performed by the engineering team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in electrical design, with a significant portion in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Proficiency in ETAP, PSpice , or similar electrical design and analysis software.
• Demonstrated expertise in high-voltage systems, power generation, and distribution.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience working in a client-facing role and presenting technical solutions.
