About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems to join their innovative team based in Cardiff . This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated power infrastructure solutions. You will manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality electrical projects. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of electrical power systems, including distribution, protection, and control schemes.
• Manage project lifecycles, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop and review technical specifications, drawings, and calculations for power system projects.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations in the UK.
• Oversee the work of electrical engineering teams, providing technical direction and mentorship.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success and stakeholder satisfaction.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in electrical power system design and project management.
• In-depth knowledge of high-voltage equipment , substation design, and grid connection standards.
• Experience with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E).
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and manage distributed teams.
