About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Electrical Engineer to spearhead their electrical engineering division in Leeds . This leadership role involves managing a team of engineers, overseeing project lifecycles, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex electrical infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for setting technical direction, mentoring team members, and fostering innovation within the department. This hybrid role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing both technical challenges and team dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the electrical engineering team, providing technical oversight, mentorship, and performance management.
Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for electrical engineering tasks.
Develop and implement robust electrical designs for commercial and industrial facilities.
Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Oversee the procurement process for electrical equipment and materials, negotiating with suppliers.
Act as a key technical advisor to clients, stakeholders, and other departments throughout project lifecycles.

Requirements

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional qualification.
10+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Demonstrated expertise in building services design , power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
Strong project management skills and experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
Proficiency with relevant design software and project management tools.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
