About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to join their advanced R&D department in Cambridge . This senior role will involve leading the design, development, and integration of complex electrical systems that form the core of our client's next-generation technologies. You will be instrumental in defining system architecture, driving technical innovation, and mentoring a talented team of engineers. Working in a collaborative hybrid model, you will bridge the gap between conceptual design and practical implementation, ensuring robust and scalable solutions for challenging applications in Cambridge .
Key Responsibilities
- Define and architect high-level electrical system designs, translating complex requirements into technical specifications.
- Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers throughout the design, development, and testing phases.
- Oversee the integration of electrical components, subsystems, and software.
- Conduct rigorous system analysis, performance modeling, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and research departments.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance procedures.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical systems engineering, with significant leadership experience.
- Proven expertise in system architecture, power electronics, control systems, and signal processing.
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) and ECAD software.
- Strong understanding of hardware-software interaction and system integration principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, suitable for a hybrid working arrangement in Cambridge .
