About the Role
Our client is searching for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Environment Artist to spearhead the creation of immersive game worlds from their studio in Stoke-on-Trent . You will guide a team of talented artists, defining the visual direction and ensuring the highest standards of quality for game environments. This leadership role requires a blend of artistic talent, technical proficiency, and strong communication skills to inspire and manage the environment art team effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of environment artists, providing clear direction and feedback.
- Develop and maintain environment art pipelines, style guides, and quality standards.
- Create high-quality 3D environment assets, including models, textures, and set dressing.
- Collaborate with level designers and art directors to realize the vision for game environments.
- Optimize environment assets for performance on target platforms, working closely with technical artists in Stoke-on-Trent .
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in environment art for games, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
- Expertise in 3D modeling and texturing software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Substance Painter).
- Proficiency with modern game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
- Strong understanding of architectural design, composition, and lighting principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
