About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and inspiring Lead Environment Artist to guide their talented team in Brighton . This role is paramount in shaping the visual identity and immersive qualities of our game worlds. You will be responsible for setting the artistic direction for environments, mentoring junior artists, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional artistic skill, a deep understanding of environmental design principles, and proven leadership capabilities. Key Responsibilities

Define and oversee the creation of high-quality game environments, ensuring artistic vision and technical feasibility.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of environment artists , fostering a collaborative and productive work atmosphere.
Collaborate with level designers, art directors, and other team members to achieve cohesive and engaging world-building.
Develop and implement environment art pipelines , tools, and workflows.
Ensure environmental assets are optimized for performance across target platforms while maintaining aesthetic integrity.

Requirements

Minimum 6 years of experience in environment art for games, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
Exceptional portfolio showcasing expertise in creating realistic or stylized environments, props, and set dressing.
Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software (Maya, 3ds Max, Blender) and game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity).
Strong understanding of modeling, texturing, lighting , and composition within environmental contexts.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
