About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking game studio based in Milton Keynes , is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Game Designer to spearhead the design direction of their new interactive projects. You will be instrumental in crafting engaging gameplay mechanics, compelling player experiences, and innovative game systems. Key Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the core game design vision, mechanics, and systems for new titles.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of game designers, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
• Create detailed design documentation, including GDDs, flowcharts, and wireframes.
• Work closely with programmers, artists, and producers to ensure design implementation aligns with the vision and technical constraints.
• Iterate on gameplay through prototyping, playtesting, and analysis of player feedback.
• Champion innovative design solutions that push the boundaries of player engagement and enjoyment.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in game design , with a proven track record of shipping successful titles.
• At least 3 years of experience in a lead or senior design role , with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Deep understanding of various game genres, mechanics, and player psychology.
• Proficiency in game design tools and documentation standards.
• Experience working with game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, especially in a remote setting.
