About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Geologist to spearhead subsurface exploration initiatives within the energy sector . Based in Coventry, West Midlands , this role is crucial for identifying and evaluating potential new energy resources. You will lead a team of geologists and geoscientists, leveraging advanced geological modelling and data analysis techniques. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the geological assessment and interpretation of exploration prospects, utilizing seismic data, well logs, and core samples.
- Develop and manage subsurface geological models, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee the execution of exploration programs, from initial prospect generation to detailed evaluation.
- Mentor and guide a team of geoscientists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Prepare geological reports and presentations for management and potential partners.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geological exploration technology and methodologies.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related geoscience field.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in geological exploration , preferably within the energy industry .
- Demonstrated expertise in seismic interpretation, basin analysis, and structural geology.
- Proven ability to lead and manage technical teams effectively.
- Proficiency with geological modelling software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
