Lead Geoscientist - Subsurface Interpretation

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Lead Geoscientist with expertise in subsurface interpretation to join their innovative team in Milton Keynes . This senior role is pivotal in exploring and appraising potential energy resources, involving detailed analysis of seismic, well, and geological data. You will lead interpretation projects, mentor junior geoscientists, and contribute significantly to the company's exploration strategy and asset development. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the interpretation of seismic, well log, and core data to build integrated subsurface models .
• Identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon or geothermal resources.
• Utilize advanced geological modeling and visualization software.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and drilling teams to define well targets and optimize placement.
• Mentor and guide junior members of the geoscience team.
• Present geological concepts and findings to technical and management audiences.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science discipline.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in subsurface geological interpretation , with a strong focus on exploration.
• Proficiency with seismic interpretation software (e.g., Kingdom, Petrel, OpendTect).
• Solid understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy, and sedimentology.
• Experience with prospect risking and uncertainty analysis.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a track record of successful project delivery.
