About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Geotechnical Engineer to join their fully remote, expert team. This senior role is critical in providing advanced geotechnical expertise and leadership for a diverse range of complex infrastructure and development projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the geotechnical aspects from initial site investigation and analysis through to design and construction support, ensuring the stability and safety of foundations and earthworks. Working remotely, you will collaborate with project teams globally, utilising cutting-edge techniques and contributing to innovative solutions in a flexible, high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all geotechnical aspects of major infrastructure and construction projects.
- Develop and execute comprehensive site investigation strategies, including ground investigations and laboratory testing.
- Perform advanced geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, foundation design, and settlement analysis.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, design recommendations, and specifications.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior geotechnical engineers.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering , with a proven track record in a lead capacity.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with relevant professional body.
- Expertise in using advanced geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio) and numerical modelling techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
- Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a strong ability to manage projects remotely.
