About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Geothermal Energy Engineer to spearhead their pioneering geothermal projects in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of advanced geothermal power generation systems. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and strategic foresight to drive innovation in sustainable energy solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, engineering, and operational planning for geothermal power plants .
• Oversee site assessment, resource exploration, and drilling operations for geothermal wells.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with research institutions and technology providers to integrate cutting-edge geothermal technologies .
• Mentor and develop junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and industry best practices in the energy sector .

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; PhD or MSc in Geothermal Engineering is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the geothermal energy industry, with a strong track record in project leadership.
• In-depth knowledge of geothermal reservoir engineering, drilling techniques, and power plant design.
• Experience with thermodynamic cycles, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics relevant to geothermal systems .
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in the energy industry .
