Lead Industrial Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Lead Industrial Engineer to spearhead process improvement initiatives at their facility in Coventry, West Midlands . This leadership position is critical for driving operational excellence, enhancing productivity, and optimizing workflows across all manufacturing and logistical functions. You will guide a team of engineers, championing innovative solutions and ensuring the seamless integration of new technologies and methodologies. Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of industrial engineers, providing direction and support for project execution.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for process improvement, capacity planning, and operational efficiency enhancements across the Coventry site.
• Oversee the design and implementation of new production lines, facility layouts, and material handling systems to maximize efficiency and minimize bottlenecks.
• Utilize advanced analytical tools, including simulation, statistical analysis, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies, to identify and address operational inefficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the engineering design and implementation processes.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and presentations for senior management, outlining project progress, findings, and recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives within the West Midlands operations.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering , with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt certification preferred), Theory of Constraints, and other process improvement methodologies.
• Proven experience in project management, including planning, execution, and budget control for large-scale industrial projects.
• Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., AnyLogic, Arena) and CAD packages (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a strong ability to drive change in a manufacturing environment.
