Lead Industrial Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Industrial Engineer to spearhead their operational excellence initiatives at their facility in Newcastle upon Tyne . This senior position will involve providing strategic direction for all industrial engineering functions, mentoring a team of engineers, and championing the adoption of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies. You will play a crucial role in optimizing the entire value stream, from raw material input to finished product output, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal waste. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of advanced manufacturing techniques and a passion for leading transformative change.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term strategies for operational efficiency, capacity planning, and resource optimization across the site.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of industrial engineers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
• Oversee the design and implementation of major capital projects related to process automation and facility upgrades in Tyne and Wear .
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for production efficiency, quality, and cost, driving continuous improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with senior management to align industrial engineering strategies with overall business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations in the production processes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in industrial engineering leadership roles within manufacturing.
• Demonstrated success in implementing large-scale process improvement and automation projects.
• In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing , Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, and simulation modelling.
• Strong strategic planning, financial analysis, and project management capabilities.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive significant organizational change.
