About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Lead Industrial Engineer to join their established operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for driving strategic improvements in production efficiency, supply chain logistics, and overall operational performance. You will lead a team of industrial engineers, oversee major process improvement projects, and work collaboratively with senior management to develop and implement long-term operational strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of industrial engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives for process improvement, cost reduction, and waste elimination across all operations.
- Oversee the design and implementation of new manufacturing layouts, workflows, and automation solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and business case development for capital investments in new technologies and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all engineered processes.
- Present findings, recommendations, and project status updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- At least 7 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Deep understanding and practical application of lean manufacturing , Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex, cross-functional engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Expertise in process simulation software, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking capabilities.
