Lead Industrial Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Industrial Engineer to spearhead process optimization and operational excellence initiatives at their facility in Newcastle upon Tyne . This leadership role demands a strategic thinker capable of driving significant improvements in production efficiency, resource utilization, and overall plant performance. You will mentor a team of industrial engineers, set strategic direction for process improvement, and collaborate closely with senior management to align engineering efforts with business objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the industrial engineering team in the development and implementation of strategic process improvement plans.
• Oversee the design and optimization of manufacturing workflows, plant layouts, and material handling systems.
• Implement and champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma programs across the organization.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, forecast needs, and develop actionable insights for management.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety awareness within the engineering and operations teams.
• Manage capital expenditure projects related to facility upgrades and new equipment installations.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in industrial engineering , with a proven track record in leadership roles.
• Expertise in Lean Manufacturing , Six Sigma (Black Belt certification required), and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong proficiency in statistical analysis, process modeling, and simulation software.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience in project management and managing budgets for large-scale engineering projects.
