Lead Information Security Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Information Security Architect to spearhead the design and implementation of their enterprise-wide security architecture. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for defining the security strategy, standards, and roadmaps, ensuring that security is embedded into the core of all technology initiatives. This role demands a deep understanding of complex security systems, emerging threats, and the ability to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient architectural designs, driving security excellence across a distributed workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and document the overall information security architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain security architecture principles, standards, patterns, and reference models.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to address evolving threats and business needs.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure, application development, and business units to embed security by design into all projects.
• Provide expert guidance on security architecture best practices and risk mitigation strategies to stakeholders at all levels.
• Lead security architecture reviews and threat modeling sessions for critical systems and applications.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (7+ years) in information security, with a significant focus on security architecture.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing robust security architectures for complex, large-scale enterprises.
• Deep knowledge of security domains including network security, data security, application security, cloud security, and identity and access management.
• Experience with security frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, SABSA) and threat modeling methodologies.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, crucial for a remote role.
