Lead Information Security Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary and experienced Lead Information Security Architect to join their team in Portsmouth . This senior role is responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of the organization's overall security architecture. You will set the technical direction for security, ensuring that robust, scalable, and effective security solutions are integrated across all business and IT initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical understanding of cybersecurity principles, cloud environments, and emerging threats, driving innovation and excellence in security design.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-level security architecture strategies and roadmaps.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to address evolving threats.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure, application development, and business teams to integrate security into their designs.
• Develop security standards, guidelines, and best practices for the organization.
• Lead security reviews of proposed systems and projects, ensuring compliance with security policies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to security engineering teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• 10+ years of experience in information security, with a significant focus on security architecture and design.
• Proven experience designing secure solutions for complex, distributed environments, including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Expert knowledge of security principles, frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, SABSA), and threat modeling.
• Strong understanding of networking, cryptography, identity and access management, and data security.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
