Lead Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Lead Information Security Engineer to join their dedicated security team. This role is essential for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security systems and infrastructure to protect company assets. You will be responsible for leading engineering efforts, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the highest standards of security are met. Based at our Milton Keynes office, this position requires a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of modern security technologies and practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment, and management of security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM systems.
• Develop and enforce security best practices and coding standards for infrastructure and applications.
• Conduct security architecture reviews and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Manage and respond to security incidents, performing forensic analysis and implementing remediation strategies.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Mentor and guide junior security engineers, fostering their technical growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in security engineering and infrastructure management.
• Expertise in network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure), and endpoint security.
• Strong proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
