Lead Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Lead Information Security Engineer to spearhead their security engineering efforts within a fully remote team. This senior position involves leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of our client's cybersecurity infrastructure, ensuring the highest level of protection for their digital assets. You will play a critical role in architecting secure solutions, developing automation for security processes, and mentoring junior engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and deployment of enterprise-level security solutions and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement security automation strategies and tools to enhance efficiency and response times.
• Manage and maintain security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM, and endpoint security solutions.
• Conduct in-depth security assessments, threat modeling, and incident response planning and execution.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure security is integrated into the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the information security engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in information security engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
• Extensive experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Strong expertise in network security, application security, cryptography, and identity and access management.
• Demonstrated experience in leading security projects and mentoring technical staff.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
