Lead Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Lead Information Security Engineer to spearhead security engineering efforts in Reading . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint security solutions.
• Mentor and guide a team of information security engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Develop and automate security processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and response times.
• Conduct technical assessments of new security technologies and solutions.
• Collaborate with IT operations, development, and architecture teams to ensure security is integrated across all systems.
• Manage security incident response from a technical perspective, coordinating containment and eradication efforts.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior or lead Information Security Engineer role.
• Deep technical expertise in network security, system security, and cloud security technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible).
• Experience with SIEM deployment and management, and security analytics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical projects in Reading .
