About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Lighting Artist to spearhead their lighting efforts in Coventry . You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the visual mood and atmosphere for our projects, translating artistic direction into stunningly realistic or stylized lighting scenarios. This pivotal role requires a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of light behaviour, and the ability to guide a team towards achieving unparalleled visual fidelity in the Arts & Entertainment domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement high-quality lighting solutions across projects, ensuring artistic consistency and technical performance.
- Collaborate closely with concept artists, art directors, and technical artists to define lighting styles and pipelines.
- Set up and optimize lighting scenes, considering factors such as mood, realism, and performance.
- Guide and mentor junior lighting artists, providing constructive feedback and fostering artistic growth.
- Troubleshoot lighting-related issues and implement efficient solutions.
- Contribute to the development of lighting tools and workflows to enhance team productivity.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Lighting Artist within the games or film industry, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise.
- Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max) and lighting rendering engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
- Deep understanding of light properties, color theory, and composition principles.
- Experience with real-time lighting techniques and optimization strategies.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
- Ability to interpret and execute artistic direction effectively.
