Lead Lighting Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic Lead Lighting Technician to oversee and execute lighting designs for a variety of productions and events in Coventry . You will be responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of lighting systems, ensuring they meet the creative and technical requirements of each project. This hybrid role requires a balance of hands-on technical work and team leadership, contributing to the visual artistry of performances and installations. You will work closely with creative directors and production teams to bring artistic visions to life through innovative lighting solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement lighting plots for stage, film, and event productions.
• Install, program, and operate lighting control consoles and related equipment.
• Supervise and mentor a team of lighting technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality execution.
• Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on all lighting equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Collaborate with directors and designers to achieve desired aesthetic and atmospheric effects.
• Manage lighting budgets and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Lighting Technician or in a related technical theatre role.
• Proficiency with various lighting consoles (e.g., ETC, GrandMA) and moving light fixtures.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a technical team.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles and safety standards in a live production environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
• Experience in the Arts & Entertainment industry.
