About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Machine Learning Engineer to spearhead their AI initiatives in Birmingham . This leadership role requires a blend of technical expertise in machine learning systems and strong project management skills to guide the development and deployment of advanced ML models. You will be instrumental in shaping the company's AI strategy, building and mentoring a high-performing team, and ensuring the successful implementation of scalable, production-ready ML solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of production-level machine learning systems and infrastructure.
- Architect scalable and robust ML pipelines, from data ingestion and preprocessing to model training and serving.
- Mentor and manage a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Collaborate with product management and business stakeholders to define ML project roadmaps and deliverables.
- Implement best practices for MLOps, including model monitoring, versioning, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a specialization in Machine Learning.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead capacity.
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and mentor technical teams effectively in the Birmingham area.
