About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable production-level machine learning systems.
- Mentor and guide a team of ML engineers, providing technical direction and fostering their professional growth.
- Develop and implement best practices for ML model development, testing, and deployment pipelines (MLOps).
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to integrate ML solutions into products and services.
- Oversee the architecture of ML infrastructure, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency in the Newcastle upon Tyne region.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in Machine Learning.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in machine learning engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.
- Extensive experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
- Proven ability to build and deploy complex ML models in production environments using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong understanding of data engineering principles, distributed systems, and MLOps practices for a role based in Tyne and Wear .
