About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Machine Learning Engineer to spearhead their AI initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development and deployment of machine learning models and pipelines.
- Architect scalable and resilient ML systems using cloud-based infrastructure.
- Mentor and manage a team of machine learning engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support.
- Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and software engineers to define project roadmaps and deliverables.
- Implement best practices for MLOps, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and model monitoring.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies and methodologies to enhance the ML platform's capabilities.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in machine learning engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in building and deploying ML models in production environments, preferably on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Solid understanding of data engineering principles, distributed systems, and MLOps best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
