About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Machine Learning Engineer to spearhead their AI initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will lead a team of talented engineers in designing, building, and deploying scalable machine learning systems that drive key business decisions and product features. This pivotal role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a strategic vision for leveraging AI. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of production-level machine learning models and systems.
- Mentor and manage a team of machine learning engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Define and implement MLOps best practices for model training, deployment, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with data scientists and product managers to translate business needs into actionable AI solutions.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning and AI technologies.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in MLOps , CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency in Python and relevant ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Excellent understanding of distributed systems, data engineering, and software architecture.
