About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to spearhead their HVAC systems design efforts. This fully remote position allows you to lead from anywhere within the UK, contributing to innovative projects that enhance building performance and occupant comfort. You will be responsible for guiding the design process, mentoring a team of engineers, and ensuring the delivery of cutting-edge HVAC solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of complex HVAC systems for commercial and industrial buildings.
- Manage and mentor a team of mechanical design engineers, providing technical guidance and project oversight.
- Develop detailed design calculations, specifications, and drawings using relevant CAD and BIM software.
- Ensure designs comply with energy efficiency standards, building codes, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to ensure integrated and effective building services solutions.
- Oversee the technical aspects of procurement, installation, and commissioning of HVAC systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in HVAC design, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior role .
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC principles, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and building physics.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP) and HAP or IESVE.
- Strong understanding of sustainable design principles and energy modelling.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills, with proven success in a remote leadership capacity .
