Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Oversee the design, analysis, and validation of automotive mechanical systems, including powertrain, chassis, and body components.
• Develop and implement engineering strategies to meet performance, cost, and timing objectives for new vehicle programs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, software development, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration.
• Conduct rigorous testing and performance validation of prototypes and production parts, documenting results and driving improvements.
• Champion best practices in mechanical design, simulation, and problem-solving within the engineering department in Birmingham .

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in automotive mechanical engineering , with a strong focus on design and development.
• Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
• Expertise in CAD software (e.g., CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks) and CAE tools for simulation (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
• In-depth knowledge of automotive industry standards, manufacturing processes, and product development methodologies.
