About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Lead Mechanical Engineer to head their HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems division in Bristol . Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex HVAC systems for diverse projects, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Manage a team of mechanical engineers, providing technical direction, mentorship, and performance oversight.
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including load calculations, thermal modeling, and airflow dynamics.
- Oversee the selection of equipment, materials, and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and installation teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of HVAC designs.
- Develop and implement best practices for HVAC design, testing, and commissioning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a specialization in HVAC system design .
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing project lifecycles.
- In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and psychrometrics as applied to HVAC.
- Proficiency with relevant HVAC design software (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, IES VE).
- Strong understanding of building codes, energy regulations, and sustainability standards in Bristol .
