Our client is looking for a visionary Lead Mechanical Engineer to head up their engineering division in Newcastle upon Tyne . This senior position is crucial for driving innovation and overseeing the mechanical design and development of their groundbreaking products. You will manage a team of engineers, mentor junior talent, and be the technical authority on all mechanical engineering matters. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of complex mechanical systems and components.
- Develop and execute engineering strategies aligned with company objectives and market demands.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and project timelines.
- Conduct design reviews, feasibility studies, and root cause analysis for technical issues.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and sales teams to ensure seamless product integration and market success.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Over 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects from concept to launch.
- Expertise in advanced CAD/CAE tools and simulation techniques.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
